GE: AEM08FM 8,000 BTU Room Air Conditioner with 200 CFMs, 24-Hour On/Off Timer, 10.8 Energy Efficien Review

This unit was a replacement for an "old" one that was in the bedroom when I bought the house....Although the old unit worked, it labored, was noisy, looked like crap, etc. You get the picture!
Without getting into great detail, the GE unit fit well, looked good, and was easy to install...The only thing I didn't like were the extremely small screws that attached the side panel to the unit.....They just about fit because they were so short, and I didn't get one in......Had to go to Home Depot for longer screws....But the Unit was made in China, so that should speak for itself....It always seems that these China products lack something here or there.
The air conditioner works fantastic. I especially like the quite operation, and the room temperature is always displayed on the unit....It cools like a refrig. and my 10X15 room is freezing cold in no time......
Comes with a one year, "bring it back and get a new one" warranty. Can't beat that.
I live in Florida, and don't like to keep the central air on all of the time, so this is a great alternative in the evening....The high efficiency rating is a definate plus.
Bought it at Sam's Club for $188.
