First off, I want to make it clear that my low rating is not directed at Frigidaire, nor at the seller, evVive. I have another Frigidaire A/C unit that I'm very happy with, and the customer service people at evVive have so far been fantastic.My complaint is with the Amazon.com page for this item, which leaves out an extremely important fact:This unit requires a 240-volt outlet.Most homes (in the U.S., anyway) only have 110- to 120-volt outlets.And it's not like you can get an adapter to convert to the higher voltage.To use this unit, you would need to have an electrician come to your home and install a 240-volt outlet, which obviously adds to the cost of the item.
I'm stunned that this important piece of information is not included anywhere on the page for this item.If it had been, I probably wouldn't have purchased this item at all.Now I'm faced with the hassle of uninstalling a 100-pound unit, putting it back in the original box, having it shipped back, and having to pay a restocking fee.The seller, evVive, has graciously offered to work with me on this situation, but still, this whole purchase has been more of a hassle than it needed to be.
